My appointment as the pastor of Providence United Methodist Church in June of 2005 was one of God's blessings to me.  The cover of our church pictorial directory states, "Love Shines Through".  Providence is the type of church where God's love truly shines through - not only through the beautiful stained glass windows of our sanctuary, but also through the beautiful church family God has created here. While we are small in number by some people's standards, 249 members at present, we are large in spirit by the grace of God.  The first time I ever entered the sanctuary I was almost moved to tears because the presence of God was so strong.  The phrase, "God is in the house" kept running through my mind as I simply stood in awe of Him.  People who enter our sanctuary for the first time often have this same experience. 

 

Providence United Methodist Church is more than a place, it is an experience.  As the pastor it is both an honor to be God's servant and messenger for this family, and it is also humbling to stand in the pulpit and feel His presence so strongly and realize He has chosen you to deliver His word.  Personally, I don't feel that anyone can come and worship with us without experiencing God's presence, His Spirit, and His touch upon them.  I know how blessed I am to be a part of the Providence UMC family and I know that you will be blessed by taking the time to visit with us through this website.  If you are ever in our little corner of South Carolina please come and experience the place "where God's love shines through".
